It seems a long time ago now since I was photographing Emilie and David’s wedding in Frascati Italy but it is only been a few weeks. The bride & groom are back from their honeymoon and from what I gather they have had a wonderful time so it seems fitting to post some of my favourite images from their wedding here on my blog. As I’ve said in an earlier blog the venue was simply gorgeous, the weather was spot on and the Mediterranean light was delightful to work with.
The guests at the wedding were a great bunch and all seemed to relish in the sense of occasion and the Italian hospitality . Credit to the wedding guests for supporting Emilie and David as it shows a lot of love and friendship to attend an overseas wedding.
Along with the bride and groom and some of their family & friends I was staying at the wedding reception venue, Park Hotel Villa Grazioli, Frascati. A lovely building built in the 16th century situated on a hill overlooking Rome.
The day of the wedding had beautifully clear blue sky. I started photographing the grounds and some of the details at around midday. Between 1 – 2 pm I arrived at the bridal suite where Emilie and her bridesmaids were getting ready. It was quite a chilled out affair for the girls with a wonderful view from the balcony. A little after 3pm, along with guests, I boarded the coach that was taking us to the Church Of Santa Maria, Frascati. The Priest spoke a good amount of English and had even brushed up on it specially for Emilie & David’s wedding service. I found him to be very photographer friendly too! A lovely wedding service with some readings and even a friend playing the flute to add a personal touch.
After the service I managed to hitch a lift with the bride & groom where we were then driven into the centre of Frascati itself for some photos around and about this pretty town. The chauffeur reminded me of someone but I couldn’t think of who until later when one of the wedding guests commented that the chauffeur looked like Dennis Hopper! After the pictures around town we headed back to the reception for Emilie & David to spend some time with their guests and to enjoy the drinks & canapes to the sounds of a string quartet.
Their reception meal was 6 courses and I was very kindly sat with Emilie’s Uncles & Aunties who made lovely company. I felt quite spoilt with the meal and of course local wine. The celebration went onto late into the night and it seemed everyone had a fantastic time.
Here are are few of some of my favourite images from my Italian wedding !
